Press Release Body = London, 15th August 2007: Techex, an industry leading supplier of video transmission technology has entered into an agreement with Exterity, a specialist in network IPTV, to distribute its market-leading IPTV equipment. Exterity's DVB to IP product, the Exterity TV Gateway will now form part of Techex's highly competitive offering which can help resellers' profitability by supplying a complete solution that represents excellent value. Together the two companies plan to target the UK and Europe education, medical and defence and security sectors, as well as the banking and finance industries.
Techex is also the European distributor of Vbrick standards-based video networking solutions and this new partnership will able it to promote Exterity products in conjunction with VBrick's to furnish resellers with a more comprehensive offering, ideally suited to any size of deployment. In particular, Techex will provide VBrick resellers with a DVB to IP product, something previously missing from its portfolio. Exterity's IPTV gateway products enable an organisation of any size to plug digital terrestrial (DVB-T) and digital satellite (DVB-S) services directly into the LAN and distribute live broadcast TV and radio across its building or campus network.
"Many organisations are looking for an excellent value solution that will let them make the most of their existing IP network by streaming video and other multi-media content across it," commented Chris Bailey, MD of Techex. "By teaming up with Exterity, our resellers can now offer new and existing customers exactly what they want; a great value end-to-end IPTV solution that is easily installed and doesn't incur any additional infrastructure costs."
"Techex has a good stronghold of resellers across mainland Europe - an area where we are aiming to expand our presence - and represents the ideal partner to take us further into the region," said Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity. "Adding our network IPTV products to its portfolio enables Techex to complete its full range of IPTV solutions, each one suited to the differing needs of a whole host of organisations."
Notes to Editors: About Exterity Exterity Limited was formed in 2001 to create products to deliver broadcast quality digital video over IP networks within buildings. Exterity's products represent a significant advance over the co-axial cable systems in common use today but are viable for deployment in large-scale video distribution systems. Exterity's core technology, in-socketT, allows display appliances, such as televisions, to be connected directly to wall-mounted iSockets to get direct and easy access to all available digital media and services. Exterity is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
